Girth Measurement

Use a flexible measuring tape and measure all the way around your dog’s body just behind the front legs. (You can also use a piece of string or your leash to get the length and then measure the string or leash on a flat ruler.)

Chest Measurement

For breeds with large chest sizes, a chest measurement may be required. To measure the chest, measure from just behind the front leg around the front of the dog to just behind the other front leg.
